Access to view the fire marks can
be obtained by jumping directly to the page by clicking
on links categorised by company name (Catalogue)
or by using the Search (Company
Search). You may also go to the page number
or use “next page” which is at the top right
hand side of the screen on each page in the gallery
(FireMarks). You can return
to the entrance page (Home) from
any page on the site.
To enlarge the fire mark image, click once on the fire
mark. The
enlarged version of the fire mark is to the scale of
50%, but the image viewed on your own monitor depends
on the screen resolution.
The insurance companies are in chronological order.
The variant number, as seen in the enlarged
view (top left corner), is explained in the following

| (i) Insurance Company Number.
A number allocated to an Insurance
Company, in date formation order, that issued fire marks.
(ii) Fire Mark Variant. Commencing
with the letter “A”, indicates the variant
in order of issue (where known). The basis of a variant
is the design.
(iii) Sub-Variant. A variation but
maintaining the basic design.
(iv) Colour Variant. One or more different
colours used for the same variant.
